Month 6

Yes, Nina has been apart of our family for half a year now!! It's been the best half year of my life, she is such a wonderful baby. We are enjoying every moment with her. Here are the moments we enjoyed over the last month:

  • We kicked off the month by celebrating Nate's birthday. His birthday landed on a Friday this year, so we started the weekend off with a birthday breakfast. That night Nina and I prepared baked ziti and chocolate cupcakes. Saturday we spent the day at the Children's Museum in Madison and had a late lunch at Hilldale.

That looks good!

I only get to play with the cupcake holder. Another 6 months till I can enjoy the cake!

I love looking at fish!

  • Nina loves to giggle. She laughs the most at Dexter, she cannot get enough of him. He still seems to like her, but now that she can grab better and get a good handful of his hair, he keeps his distance. She giggles at anything we do she finds funny...being lifted up in the air, raspberries being blown on her cheeks and tummy, silly faces and noises.
  • Girlfriend can eat! I've been making her homemade baby food and she cannot get enough of it....sometimes she eats two containers full in one sitting! Her favorites are carrots, mint green beans and anything fruity.
  • Stranger danger has calmed down a bit. Nina still takes a few moments to warm up to new people, but she's gotten a lot better at going to other people besides myself and Nate. She also can remember people a lot better after seeing them a few times in a row.
  • Foot obsession. Nina loves to play with her feet. Her favorite time to do this is when we're changing her, it makes the process very interesting.
  • Blabber mouth. Nina talks continuously, we've started to hear more sounds that sounds like they will soon be words.
  • Scooting. Nina does this a tiny bit if you put her on her tummy and place a stuffed animal she likes in front of her, she tries to go after it.
Besides enjoying our time as a family, we've started house hunting in the Madison area. We've looked at a few houses, but are waiting for the perfect fit still. March is going to bring us many new adventures. We are looking forward to a trip to Kentucky, our family cabin and a visit back to MN! Hopefully I'll be able to post as we do these new trips!
