Wow, another month has passed. I think we say this every month, but we cannot believe Nina is already 5 months old! I do have to say that I think we've seen the most and the biggest changes in her from 4 months to 5. Here are some of the milestones we've recently reached:
- Teething- miss Nina is a drool machine! We change her bib constantly because it gets wet so fast! The first couple weeks we noticed she was teething were challenging. There were a few late nights, but overall she's really been a trooper through it. It must be so painful, but she defiantly has Nate's laid back attitude and with a few remedies (teething gel, frozen froggy toy or milk to calm her down) she's been pretty awesome.
- Stranger Danger- this is what we've nicknamed her new tendency to cry when new people hold her. She now is completely aware of who is holding her and takes a bit to warm up to them if it is not mommy or daddy. She loves to keep her eye on mommy and daddy the whole time!
- Continuous talking and cooing- our little girl got my gift of gab! She is always carrying on conversation with us and recently you can tell she gets a little frustrated she can't fully express what she wants to.
- Baby cereal- Nina got her first bit of solid food this month. She wasn't big on it at first and we've had to try a couple different brands to get one that agreed with her tummy, but now she's a big fan! Next step, homemade baby food!
- Rolling from her tummy to her back- she just sneaked this in yesterday! She did it three times for daddy!! We were so excited!
- Puts weight on her legs and "stands up" while you hold her.
- Loves to kick and splash during bath time, I think we have a little mermaid on our hands.
- Nina notices Dexter a lot more and reaches out to pet him.
- Nina is starting to sit up. She cannot do it completely on her own yet, but when you are holding her she almost always wants to be sitting up to see everything and has taken to her bumbo and pink big girl chair. The days in the butterfly chair are over, she'll sit all the way up and get stuck in the bar with the butterflies on it. It's too nerve racking for mommy to leave her in it for any length of time.
Some other fun things we've gotten in as a family this month were a trip to Chicago with Uncle Austin, Stephanie and Gigi, mommy's first night away with daddy totally in charge of Nina, Nina's second cousins stayed overnight with us in our new home and starting a weekly story time at the local library (Nina is amazed at seeing other babies!). It's been a fun first full month in Wisconsin! Now on to Nate's birthday month!!

| You cannot tell from this picture, but she relatively enjoyed it. At this point she just wanted her bottle. Now we do bottle first, cereal second. It goes a lot better. |
