12 Month Stats

So we had our 12 month appointment yesterday! Here's a quick little recap for you all:

  • 18 Lbs. 10 Oz. (10%)
  • 28 In. Long (10%)
  • Following her own curve for growth
  • On track for all her developmental requirements
  • We have to say goodbye to bottles!!! This one is hard for mommy...it means no more baby for me, just my big girl!
  • No bottles = no nutches (nooks to most other people out there) in our house. Nap time and bed time should be in-ter-esting.....
  • Starting to make the switch to whole milk.
  • Same car seat until she out weighs it....she'll be the oldest rear facing child out there :)!
This milestone is bringing a lot of changes to our household, but all of them are fun! OK, ok, ok I'll admit....I'm pushing a lot of these changes off until after labor day.....it's ok to keep my baby bottle time for one more weekend, right?!?!?! :)

Nina's Room

We've finished Nina's room at the new house

Party Time

We had a picnic party with family and friends to celebrate Nina's birthday. Gigi came to watch Nina while mommy cleaned up the house a bit. Then, the Wilds arrived to help mommy and daddy with all the food and preparation! This would have been hard to pull off without them!

Gigi brought some early birthday gifts to keep Nina entertained while Mommy cleaned!

Buttons just her size!

Auntie Tara arrived!

The wilds....and the best helpers ever!

Ok, now the hard part, another present!

Nina is one lucky little girl to have such wonderful people in her life! Thank you to all of you that sent well wishes and came to help us celebrate! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people surrounding us!

Birthday Date with Mommy & Daddy

Whew, the first birthday has come and gone! We had so much fun celebrating this big event in Nina's life. We kicked it off with a whole date day with mommy and daddy. We started off the day with a breakfast birthday party complete with blueberry pancakes, balloons and presents!

All set up for the birthday girl to wake up

What?!? Daddy is here on a "school" day!

OK guys...I'm not 100% awake yet.

Hmmmm, but some balloons might help that!

Elmo came for my birthday!

Blueberry pancakes....my favorite!

After breakfast we headed out for the Madison zoo. Nina loved seeing her favorite toy come to life...sophie the giraffe! We also rode on the carousel & train, and fed the goats in the petting zoo. Nina still has no fear when it comes to animals, she was all about the goats!

After all that we were all starving,  so we went to Ella's deli! Nina got a special baby platter and her first taste of a root beer float.

After a nap we had a pizza party and Nina got to dig into a cupcake. It was a jam packed, fun first birthday....how different than 1 year ago on this day!

Ok, so I didn't eat pizza at the pizza party...but  I had lots of pasta!

Ooooo! What's this?

Yum!

I approve!

Sugar rush!!!

Happy birthday baby girl!
